At this point in a student's education, expectations are at their highest. In this two-day intensive course, participants will identify their own learning styles including some of their key strengths and weaknesses. Once we have identified their learning styles, we will review the study and test taking skills that are essential to success in school. We will also refine these skills to better accommodate the student's individual learning needs. In addition, students will learn to identify different teaching styles and what teachers are most likely looking for. Knowing how to read what a professor is looking for and how to incorporate this information into your own work is a crucial part of long-term academic success. During this high stress hectic time organization skills, time management and stress management can make the difference between accomplishment and being overwhelmed. A number of writing techniques that are quintessential components in a student's writing portfolio will be broken down, reviewed and drilled. Finally, we will discuss the role of self-advocacy to ensuring academic and future professional success.
